A Rococo “Chinoiserie” Tortoiseshell Snuff box
A quite magnificent English 18th century silver gilt and tortoiseshell rococo snuffbox in the Chinoiserie taste. The box is decorated on all sides in high relief with “c”scrolls, flowers,tems and pagodas. The lid beautifully decorated with “c” scrolls, buildings and a “ho-ho” bird. With silver mounted hinge and thumb-piece showing traces of gilding.
