Grand Tour bronze of a seated classical muse
A fine French Grand Tour bronze of a classical muse resting her head on her arm while sitting upon an Empire stool.
The drapery is beautifully modelled and exhibits the greek key pattern in the hem of her dress. She has a lute type instrument leaning against the stool, the sound box of which is a turtle shell.
French circa 1860.
8 inches high by 9 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep ( 20 cm high by 22.5 cm wide by 11.25 cm deep.).
