European ivory of a cupid

Continental ivory figure of a cupid with outstanding carving. The cupid with butterfly wings, semi draped and with a bow in the left hand and a quiverhanging from the shoulder. The figure has a very feminine face and with the butterfly wings one could think that this was a female representation of Cupid. He or she also has a wickerwork basket strapped to his/her back. On turned ivory base above a turned ebonised wooden plinth.
Continental (probably Dieppe) circa 1860.
5.5 inches high by 2.75 inches diameter at base ( 13.75 cm by 7 cm).
