Antique Japanese ivory figural group of large size.
A very large and extremely impressive Tokio School ivory group of woodcutters. Both figures heavily engraved, one carrying wood on his back with drinking vessels at his waste and carrying a basket. The other with axe and rifle with birds in a pouch at his waste.
Japan circa 1890's.
15 inches high by 9 inches wide and 6 inches deep ( 37.5 cms by 22.5 cms by 15 cms).
