Egyptian revival clock set in marble patinated bronze and ormolu

A magnificent French Egyptian Revival three piece clock garniture in black and rouge marble with patinated bronze and parcel gilt mounts. Of exceptional quality the clock is flanked to each side of the dial by bronze Egyptian female figures in patinated and gilt bronze and stands upon a breakfront base. The circular dial is signed for J.W.Benson Ludgate Hill, London.
The 8 day key wound movement strikes the hours and halves on a bell. The tazzi again in various marbles are exceptionally well finished and elegant and sport bronze and parcel gilt male Egyptian figures holding up each tazza.
